Manila Zoo: Up-Close Animal Encounters

Saturday, January 31, 2015
Manila Zoological and Botanical Gardens or Manila Zoo is a popular attraction for both tourists and residents of Manila. It is home to many animals like tigers, elephant, monkeys, lion, eagles, snakes, crocodiles, turtles, hippopotamus, deers and many more. Here's what me and my husband did to get there.

How to Get to Manila Zoo

1. From Buendia, we have taken a jeepney ride to Quirino
2. From there, we have taken another jeepney ride going to Harrison Plaza (Dakota H. Plaza Jeepneys) and asked the driver to drop us down at the Manila Zoo.

Inside the Manila Zoo

The first animal we have seen is Mali the Elephant. Then we checked the Kinder Zoo where different activities are offered for a separate fee.

Kinder Zoo

My husband wants to take pictures with different animals so, we get inside the Kinder Zoo. We paid another 100php/person so we can touch and carry the baby crocodile and take pictures with parrots and other birds. For a package of activities like wall climbing, zip line ride, swimming, horse back riding, bird feeding, fish feeding and many others, the fee is 250php.

Here are some pictures taken inside the Kinder Zoo.

Outside Kinder Zoo

After exploring Kinder Zoo, we have taken pictures of other animals that can be found inside the Manila Zoo. The hippopotamus is one of my favorites.
